In
just a few years, networked services using TCP/IP
have become mission critical. When email, your website
or the Intranet goes down, your business stops. Other
devices such as routers and printers need to be continuously
monitored to ensure that there are no network bottlenecks.
Tango/04's new TCP/IP Services Agent
allows you to continuously monitor the status of all
your networked devices and services, detecting problems,
slow downs, and measuring total downtime.
The agent continuously checks the
health of POP3 and SMTP email servers, as well "pinging"
or checking port availability of any networked device
- locally or over the Internet.
You can even retrieve new messages
from a POP3 account - valuable for detecting errors
in devices that send emails to communicate operating
problems.
Operating status messages can be
viewed from the TCP/IP Services Agent Java console,
or can be managed from the Visual Message Center Console,
allowing full alert and automation capabilities.
Technical Overview
Run any number of service checkers
on local networks or Internet, including:
- Check any type of host - regardless
of operating system, device type
- Use IP addresses or DNS e.g. mail.tango04.com
- POP3 email server:
- Check availability, response
times
- Check mailbox access, user
profile, password
- Check mailbox size, kb or
number of messages
- Download messages - redirect
to VISUAL Message Console
- SMTP email server:
- Check availability, response
times
- Check access, user profile,
password
- Check send message
- Check networked services,
check port, response times:
- Web servers (HTTP)
- FTP
- Telnet
- Client Access
- Third party applications -
ERP, CRM etc.
- Ping networked devices:
- Printers
- Routers
- Disk subsystems
- SAN storage etc.
- Check availability, response
times
