Service Management

VISUAL Message Center, Tango/04's suite of products
for the management of IT infrastructure, provides
a convenient technological foundation for the development
of Business Service Management strategies.
Its advanced monitoring, automation,
alert, visualization, reporting and auditing functions
enable the management of multiple systems, applications,
networks, devices and all the components of an
organization's IT infrastructure, including both
physical elements and logical events.
The open and flexible architecture
of VISUAL Message Center is capable to integrate business
operations data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
to monitor the business activity of the organization.
The integration and correlation
of the monitoring of infrastructure components and
business activity converge to enable the centralized
Business Service Management.

For instance, a Business View in
VISUAL Message Center can group entries that are relevant
to a particular business process or service. These
entries can be related to security, performance availability
or business metrics, but what they have in common
is that their operating health is essential for the
availability of the whole business service. The resulting
Business View will allow the business service and
its status to be viewed in its entirety, and the console
will perform automatic actions accordingly.

 |
| Tango/04's
technology provides the means to obtain those indicators
in real time, or nearly, from different data sources
that may include the actual production databases. Since
Tango/04 software solutions work inherently in real
time, they are perfectly suited to support Business
Activity Monitoring (BAM) projects and correlate business
metrics with IT operations data. |

Out of this data, an Enterprise
View can be built easily with no more than a few mouse
clicks to show the status of all the components of
a business process.
All the elements that comprise
a business service such as a production line, a credit
card transaction processing system, order entry, invoicing,
or an online store, can be mapped into an Enterprise
View. It is possible to drill-down into any element
of the process to view its detailed information, providing
an in-depth understanding of the operational status
of even the last component of the IT infrastructure.
In case of failure, IT operators and LOB managers
can see what aspects of a business service have been
affected, locate the cause of the failure, and assess
the potential impact of the event in the business.
|
|
|
KPIs
can be monitored to better reflect the operational health
of a Business service. Total sales per hour, total of
items produced, number of credit card transactions or
other data that is relevant to the business, can be
monitored in real time and correlated with data from
the underlying technological infrastructure. KPI monitoring
is important because certain business processes can
be affected by reasons other than a technical failure,
as for example a strike, an inventory outage, a problem
in transport lines, or sabotage. |
